Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers groups.
Fans can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
